With only a few results trickling in, September was a slow month for match play. The Peterborough and Hunts Ladies ‘A’ team finished off their season after playing their final two matches. Firstly they played one of the stronger teams in the league, Thorpewood ‘C’ where the team of Margaret Mee, Sheila Hennessey, Kitty Hall, and Kath Stokes could only manage one set in a 7-1 loss. They finished their season on a high note though with a 6-2 win over Needingworth ‘B’. Congratulations go to Margaret Mee, Sheila Hennessey, Claire Brown, and Margaret Pendall who played in the match.

The P&H Ladies ‘B’ team played one match which was again against Needingworth ‘B’ where they were unfortunate not to pick up a set, with the final score being an 8-0 loss. Playing for Wisbech was Sue Pitcher, Sue Beel, Margaret Pendall, and Jane Page.

Wisbech also took part in the Don Brace Plate competition where they played away at Longthorpe. The club came the closest it’s ever gotten to progressing with the final result standing at 4-4. Unfortunately on game count back we lost 36-32 which was disappointing, but just proves there is hope for next season. The unlucky team were Daniel Bambridge, James Newton, Rachel Collins, Jane Page.
